05 Good morning, podcasting. Morning chat. Today is Friday the 13th, 2025, and today we're discussing a social audio app that might just be our podcast next home. Plus, we're tackling your burning podcast questions and sharing our favorite wins from the week. So if you're listening live on Clubhouse, hit the share button, bottom left hand side of the screen and share it. However, Clubhouse lets you. And if you're listening via podcast, please share this with a fellow podcaster. And now give us about 30 seconds and we'll get things rolling. Thanks for being here. Good morning again, podcasting, Morning Chat. Thank you for being here.
24 I am your host, Mark Ronik, and on stage with me we've got producer Ashley Feller, Dr. Faye, Nick Nalback, Amanda Sharp, Sid Meadows and Jonathan Howard. Certainly a full house. Thank you all for being here and thank you for being here live on Clubhouse or maybe on YouTube as well. We're going to share the live link for you in case you want to come and see the behind the scenes or see me in action. You can do that through the link that we'll provide you and we put that in the show notes for our podcast audience as well in case they want to do that. Oh, and Alex Baelish has also joined us this morning.
04 First, thank you all for holding down the Fort, especially UDR for taking the lead yesterday in my absence, had a migraine. It's been a mentally and physically exhausting week for me. And I guess it all caught up with me yesterday with that migraine. I got up, did my usual early morning routine, at least I started to until I get the the warning signs of a migraine where my vision just completely goes to crap and I all of a sudden I'm not really able to see, especially peripherally. And the best part about that, if there is a bright side to it, it's it is a fair warning. And I can usually pop a couple of Excedrin migraines and that will that will make the pain more tolerable. And because if I don't, it is really unbearable. So that is something that at least helps. But it does make me feel a little drunk afterwards. I feel a little Spacey, a little cloudy and felt like that. Have you tried any?
12 Have you tried any of the remedies that people come up with? How many remedies have you been? That's a great question. And I don't know that I have tried many remedies actually. Have you heard of any? I have heard a few but I just can't now that you. Put me on the spot you put. Me on the spot. Yeah, I haven't tried any. I'll go to Amanda because I know Amanda suffers from migraines from time to time. Actually, I think she told me she suffered from one this week. Amanda, what do you do when you get your migraines? So I get the two different kind. I get the kind that you have and you're so right. When that vision starts going, I can medicate. And then when it's the other, it just can take you totally offline.
56 Like a lot of the remedies are either like ice or shower or peppermint oils and stuff like that. And I've not found anything and honestly, even medication that takes it away completely kind of has to run its course for me. But the first time I got an ocular 1, I actually, I've been getting migraines my whole life. But the first time I got the one where I couldn't sleep. Do you know the first thing I thought was this is so I'm bred for me. I may never see my child's face again. Wow, you really go to a dark side. I didn't know what was happening. I thought I was going blind. Yeah, it's really scary. How long have you had them? Well, the first, I've had them like my regular migraines since I was probably like 8 or 10, but the ocular ones didn't start until I was probably like 27 or 28 and almost 2. And he was the most adorable thing. So I thought I was going blind and I was like, I might never see my child again.
49 Not that I'm going blind, just that I wouldn't be able to see my baby's face. Yeah, it is scary. It is, especially for the first time when you your site just starts going in and out. It's. Yeah, you don't know what to do with yourself. I get it. All right. Well, thank you again, all for doing that. And that actually leads me to a little announcement. I've been thinking this week a lot, obviously dealing with some physical and mental challenges. I've got a lot going on, a lot of balls up in the air, if you will. And you know, one of them being the Empowered podcasting conference come in another being this show every single day and all of that on top of my day-to-day business, helping other podcasters, podcast, keeping it simple.
40 So I've decided for this summer and I'm open to feedback. I've decided for just the summer Mondays we are taking off. I need that extra day to really prepare my week appropriately. So I think that that's what we're going to do. And I'm is how does everybody feel about that? Is that OK with the gang? Because I haven't really sprung this on most of you yet. Well, you're the boss, so. OK. Thanks, Alex. Appreciate that. Exactly. What are we going to say? No, don't do it. You have to come in. No, I was like you. Know that's what. You need to do, that's what you need to do. And Dr. just wants to be a star anyway, so it'll be the Dr. Show.
25 Yeah, well, I don't think we will do any show. Coaxing. It took a little bit of. Coaxing. Oh yeah, like we're twisting her arm like, oh, I'll do it. No. Sometimes we do have to twist DRS arm. She gets a little hesitant when I asked her to take over for me. You could. You could. You know what you could do? You could bribe her with eggs. Oh yes, yes, or bribe her with cooking eggs. I'll cook her eggs for her. Just like get her eggs because I've got to tell you, there's a whole market for eggs these days. I mean, like 1/2 a dozen eggs probably make it. You probably get off cheat. That's right, Dan. Good morning. Welcome to the stage. Did you want to respond to my announcement? I mean, yeah, first of all, if that's what you feel is best, I don't see anything wrong with it. However, I would say exactly what Alex said. There are probably a handful of people who would be happy to give you Monday off.
22 Yeah. Well, I appreciate the opportunity to take off and everybody being so willing and assuring that that's OK that we can, we can do that. And look, if everybody wants to keep it going without me on Mondays, I'm open to that. But we, you know, we got to make sure of that. So as of now, I'm saying Mondays over the summer when we get back to September, we will go to the usual five days a week. But as of now, no Monday shows starting this very Monday. And by the way, Speaking of days of the week, happy Friday the 13th, everybody.
05 I don't really practice Friday the 13th anymore. And I know that a lot of people are superstitious and that they do. So hopefully you aren't too superstitious today and you get out there and do all the things you want to do and not let this day affect that for. This one practice Friday, that's. True. I mean, you know, some people may. You. You beat. Me to it, Nick, because what do you do? Go by Blake and just wait to be killed. I think it's funny that Nick is asking because Nick, I know he and his wife are big fans of Halloween and scary movies. And I do know people for Friday the 13th that will make it a point to watch scary movies on that day, including the original Friday the 13th movie.
58 So I guess that's how you would how you would celebrate it. Go ahead, Sid. Good morning, everybody. There's a lot of chat going on about the emojis and I just wanted to say they have moved so that when you if you want an emoji, you have to double tap on that person's face. So if I wanted to heart what you were saying, Mark, I have to double tap on your face. And it should be noted that the hand raise emoji is gone, right? Oh, look, somebody just double tapped on my face and did that heart thing. OK, but there's no hand raise emoji anymore. Oh, wait. Dr. Where'd you find? It well, that's normal. Mine's normal too. Mine's normal. OK, there's an update that came yesterday and you haven't updated, that's why.
39 So I did an update yesterday and so. But actually I see the hand raising, I see the little clipboard down the bottom. So I think what Sid is referring to is the emojis. So here on Clubhouse, if we originally, if we tap and hold our own faces, we can express an emoji based on whatever somebody's saying. So somebody says something really powerful, we might hit that heart emoji. And that's how we raise hands when we're on stage. We hit that emoji of a hand waving, but that seems to be missing. According to Sid, this actually leads into a good discussion because Jonathan had put out on our Facebook group, in the Empowered Podcasting Facebook group that chatter, which is the Clubhouse. I guess we would call it a Clubhouse competitor built by people who were original clubhousers and they felt that when Clubhouse started making a bunch of changes, they felt like we need something new and different. And we've been talking about Chatter here and there. I've done some stuff here and there on Chatter and they've just released their Two Point O version. And so far it looks pretty sweet. And Jonathan has been part of the OG group, part of the Beta group from the get go.
03 He's been on there building a community over there, and there are lots of people over there as well, by the way. And it's certainly tempting and of interest to potentially move this show over there. And so I'm going to 1st encourage everybody and we'll give you some reasons for encouragement here in a minute as we ask Jonathan some questions about it. But I encourage you to get the app and if you already have it, remove it, uninstall it, and then reinstall it. Because I noticed that when I updated the app that I already had existing on my phone and tried to sign back into it, it wasn't working.
43 So I deleted it from my phone and reinstalled it and then everything worked brilliantly. So Jonathan, let's start here with you and discuss this new app, or at least the new version of the app. You've been using it since the beta, like I said. So what do you think is the biggest improvement to version 2 point O compared to the previous versions? Less glitches, although there are still some glitches because it is a new version. We're working through some stuff. I know they're doing a couple updates today that they're pushing through, but I think honestly the the biggest thing is you've got a community there. So when if you guys join, I put the link in the Facebook group that'll bring you right into Empowered Podcasting and you'll automatically be a member of that group. And that group will have a wall where we can post just like in Facebook, anything that we want to talk about or anything that's going on.
44 So right now there's just a welcome like thing on the wall. There's also a chat for the entire group. So you can have a actually chatting with the members. Everybody that's a member of the group will get the notification in the chat when you put something in the chat. So there's a group chat as well as the wall, and then you can run your rooms and you'll have all the features that we have here and more because you can do video there, which is awesome actually. Yeah, so as I say right now you can see my video if you go to the YouTube link. Well, using the Chatter app, I will be able to stream my video right there to the room. So just like you're in this room right now live, you'll be able to see me there.
33 And I'm seeing someone in the chat here. Kathy says don't switch. Kathy doesn't like the new app. And look, I think, I think just like a lot of new apps, they start out a little glitchy. They start out with some things maybe you don't love. And the thing that I'm going to do first is I'll say I'm not going to just jump right into it and make the switch. If anything, we will ease into it if that is ends up being the plan. But I think what we'll do is we'll play with it for a little while and see if we like it, see if it has more benefits than hang ups. I'll call it. You know what Kathy is saying over there in our chat.
17 So yeah, we we won't do it easily. We will make sure we take our time with it. Jonathan, with that video, can we stream to other platforms? Yes. OK, so I'd be able to go to YouTube simultaneously while I was doing it in chatter. Once, and I already have Studio, so I'd probably be able to do it for you now, but once it's set up that everybody has Studio and Chatter Pro, you'll be able to stream to multiple locations, including any place that has a key streaming queue. You'll be able to enter that manually for yourself and put stream all to all those locations.
01 Now are those that you said studio and you mentioned one other thing, what was? It Chatter Pro. Chatter Pro. So are those desktop apps? I know somebody like Dr. prefers using these apps as desktop apps. Are they available via desktop? Studio is a full desktop app. Once it yes. Once it launches, I think it's a few weeks out. A few weeks out. OK, All right, well, that's good to know. OK, especially because like I said, if we're going to ease into it, there's time for people like Dr. who prefer those apps instead. Let's see. So how is the video quality? Because I know that early reviews of Chatter 2 Point O have it's had a lot of praise for the audio clarity, the 4K video support. From your experience, does it hold up in live sessions? It holds up in live sessions and last night in one of the rooms they had like 20 some odd people on camera and there was, it was smooth.
59 I was very impressed with that, yeah. So people are even using it similarly to how they might use Zoom. I finally got on it only took me 3 months. Yeah, there you go. That's that's. I literally I haven't been able to get on and I'm glad you say to uninstall it and reinstall it because it was not letting me get on, so that's awesome. Yeah, good, Awesome. I encourage everybody to, especially those of you who are regulars of this show, get that Chatter app, check it out, play around with it a little bit and see what you think. And I'm going to be very open to feedback from everybody. I'm not going to move the show to another app if the majority of our regulars say they don't like it. Now, I'll want to dig in deeper what they do and don't like about it to see if it's something we can work through or work around.
49 But ultimately, this is a community and I think it's important that we do this as a community if that's what we decide to do. Let's see. Any other questions for Jonathan? I know also that Chatter has. I think what I read is that it offers ticketed events, I know it has subscriber groups, and I think I heard something about super chats. Have you tried any of these? Know anything about these? John, all the monetization is up and running right now. Super chats are really easy in in your chat, in your room, there's a Little Rock. It's actually rocket chat is what they're calling it. There's a little rocket next to the the bar and people can pay, you know, tip you for whatever or have a comment that they want up at the top of the room, you know, kind of up at the top of the room with the rocket chat.
40 So, and they're, they do have ticketed events. I have not tried that, nor have I done subscript subscribers yet, but you can have subscribers to your channel which pay a certain amount and get special features there. Interesting. OK, cool. I mean, who knows, maybe from the Empowered Podcasting conference, we would do something like that with Chatter and do do it as a ticketed event for those who can't be there in person. Maybe we'll stream some of it through Chatter and have people join in that way. That would be kind of cool. Does it, Jonathan, do you know if it does anything as far as analytics, what analytics or creators support tools, I'll call them, stand out to you.
23 So chatter pro will have analytics. I have not signed signed up for my chatter pro account. I know I have, I have a bunch of free things there, but it is a $20.00 a month subscription. But obviously if you're monetizing, you should be able to pay for it pretty quick. OK, gotcha. And the personal question if so, right now our group does exist. It's the empowered podcasting group over there, just like it's a house over here on Clubhouse. My question is, does it let me change the name if I wanted to let's say call it Podcasting Morning Chat instead of Empowered Podcasting? Yes you can change the name. Cool. And you can change all the settings on on it. When you go into the group.
08 You should have because I couldn't change anything yesterday but I could post. You should have the access to make the group. Any changes to the group? OK, cool. Awesome. Does anyone have any other questions for Jonathan regarding Chatter before we get into the mailbag question and then we'll get into WINS after that? Anyone have any questions I have I. Have a question. So I know that there was a component of video that was being talked about before. I haven't heard it being brought up lately like for this show. We just talked about it. You must have been making some eggs. That's OK. OK, Ashley, cut that out.
52 Yes, video is available. It can stream and up to 4K eventually. I think that's not right away, but I think that's what the pro app or one of the the add-ons. But yes, you can do that and stream live to other platforms. So there you go. OK. Will we do it for this show? Yes, I will it will not be required of all of the Co hosts to do it, but I will do it because I'm doing it anyway on YouTube. So and those Co hosts who want to be on video will be welcome to join as video component as well. So we'll find out. But again, we're not moving officially over there just yet, but we are going to start playing with it a little bit more until we decide.
35 OK, let's move into the mailbag. I've got a question here. Let me pull this up for you. This is from someone named Kevin, Kevin R from Tempe, AZ. Hey Mark, love the show. I've been listening for a while and it's been super helpful as I level up my podcast. I'm transitioning my setup from a two person show to a three person format and could use some advice. Right now we're working with just one camera and 1 angle. And I think Kevin means with the two person set up, they had A1 camera, 1 angle shot and they've now added a third mic, but that's about it.
16 What would you recommend to help us set up our set up both audio and video wise for a three person show? Thanks for all you do, Kevin. Thank you for the question, Kevin. So let's talk a little bit about what one does for an upgrade like this. Cause surprisingly, moving from two to three people can certainly add some layers to it. It's not as simple as just sometimes it's not as simple as just plugging in a microphone, especially if you have a video component. You do want to think about what you're going to do. Are you going to keep 1 camera? Are you going to move to two or three cameras? And what's that going to look like? And I know Janaid has joined us on stage here. When Janaid is, this is his wheelhouse. Janaid helps people build their home studio. So this will be helpful to have Janaid here. Thank you for being up here, Janaid. Let's start.
09 I'm going to try to do this methodically instead of just a bunch of random suggestions. Let's first talk about some equipment. Janae. What's your, I'll start with you and then anybody can chime in. What's your favorite budget friendly audio interface that handles 3 or more microphones? Because we know we can't just plug in microphones to most computers. It's not going to work that way. You've got to have something that's bringing in all the separate channels, a third party device. So what? What do you suggest to people, Janae? Good morning everybody, good morning. You know what gear do I use to do this other thing?
50 And it all comes down to their budget and the best equipment right now on the market for three plus, again, depending on how automation, on how clean they want the audio, of course, is a Rd. Caster Pro because it can handle two to four to six microphones, especially if you bring in wireless microphones as well. If you want to get to go with the Pro, you can do the Duo, which will again bring in two interface mics or two XLR microphones as well as a road go wireless microphone. So you have up to 4 inputs in there as well. So that's the first hardware, yeah. Now and I wanted to jump in and also suggest the a cheaper alternative to the road caster pro like the pod track P4. That's what I use when I'm traveling and away from my home studio and it works great.
47 It it has four XLR inputs, it has four headphone outputs as well, and it even has sound pads on it, which I love the sound pads. Even though I tend to hit the wrong buttons, I still love having that at my disposal. And also I'm curious if you've heard or know anything or if anybody here has heard or know any more about the new Pod Track P8, which is basically an upgrade of the P4. Have you heard anything about it yet, Janae? Yeah, so the P8 is a of course, you know, with the number 8, it can bring it up to 6 high gain XLR plus two additional microphone connections. We are software or you know, two additional tracks through you can plug in your phone to it as well as external audio music track.
38 So that's, that's the that's the new one. It's it is a lot cheaper of course 349 that people can use 9 sound pads. It's a pretty good device if somebody wants to get started on audio specifically. Yeah. So it's kind of almost, I would say in the middle as far as pricing goes between the P4 and the Roadcaster Pro as far, yeah, as far as the pricing goes. And it's got some other additional bells and whistles too. I know like I mentioned. I have a question, I have a question about it. Is it going to still be where you have to use an SD card for recording? The P8. Yeah. I think it does require an SD card and so does the Road Caster Pro.
21 Oh, it does. Oh, that's like the biggest, my biggest problem with it is trying to make sure you have the right sound on the SD card. Plus, taking the recording off it, it gets a little. I know what you're saying, Ashley. I just didn't know if there was a way to just have it record through the computer right? Well, Ashley, so Ashley's asking how can you record without an SD card? And the two ways that I immediately think of is some devices might have a built in hard drive, so you don't need the SD card. And what Alex is saying, some devices you might be able to plug in and record directly to your computer, which.
01 My, my biggest challenge, and again, it's it's I know it's user, user failure is trying to figure out like which channel is what. And then you got to go back and it's just it's a with the with the request. I mean, that's the best or the before. Yeah. It just gets so confusing. And I know it's user failure because I know you guys. I mean, I know you use it Mark and actually uses it and I just, it gets frustrating because you're constantly trying to figure out what's what, but that's just probably me and it's probably just needs to sit down and use it more. So all of these devices have a multi track USB output.
43 So let's say you don't want to record on an, on an SD card. You can map out, let's say Audacity or Garage Band or any of these software DAW interfaces on your computer and say, hey, I'm always recording track one on track one on the computer. So once you've got that plan and you've saved that template, then you can always come back. Hey, we're recording for audios, 3 audios, and they're going to map out to these individual tracks on your computer, so you can always set up a template so then you know exactly where to go. Yeah, great advice. Thank you, Janae.
25 And that's why Janae is super Janae and the rest of us are just Miramar. Thank you so much. That's right. I'm being serious. It really gets confusing and I don't know how many times I've renamed stuff. I got to talk to you after when I'm ready to do this because it's it's a pain. There you go, Alex. All right. And Janae, there you go. And Kathy has joined us on stage. Good morning. Kathy. Did you want to add to this? I put a suggestion in the chat before I actually used this piece of equipment yesterday because my open mic. It's a mixer and an interface. You get free software to be able to control the levels remotely via iPad or whichever tablet or.
14 Phone you've got and. It's just about whatever software you're using to record. Make sure you've changed the inputs and outputs to the device that you're using and then on each track it should be able to allow you to select which input it is. Awesome. Thank you, Kathy. Good to have somebody who's got some fresh experience using the devices we're talking about. So thank you. I appreciate, appreciate that. And I think I saw somebody else had a question. Oh no, it's Ashley. Would you mind sharing what you're sharing in the chat about another device as as an alternative to the P4 or the Road Caster Pro?
06 I would say the Yamaha MGXU. It's a mixer and I believe it's got 6 channels. But what I like about it is you can tune the effects on your voice from the board itself. So you can add or take away reverb. You can pan one voice one way to the other, and like I said, you can use it without the computer and that you can't record to it, but you could hook it up to another recording device or you could also connect it to your computer. Very cool. Thank you for that one. And Billy has joined us as well. Billy knows a thing or two about equipment. So Billy, good morning.
47 What do you got for us? I think you had a question for Ashley because I used to have that board, but I got rid of it because I didn't think it had mix minus. Does it have mix minus? Did I sell it for no reason? I. Don't think it has mix minus. I think you're right. Oh, OK, OK, so that might be problematic if you're doing virtual stuff, but I was like, dude, I used to have that board. I love that thing. And it was great for in person, but I think I was like, why did I get rid of it? And I think that's why. Billy, I'm going to, no, not at all. I'm going to put you on the spot and ask you because I get this question a lot. So I'm just going to ask it to you, what is mix minus? When do we want to use it? And you started to allude to it. So could you expand on that?
29 Well, so I mean, I'm not an audio file or audio pro, but it's basically when you're doing like a virtual interview, the audio is not going it. It's like your mix or whatever it is, it's mine. It's like it's not going to loop back and echo into the other person or echo back into you your own voice. So if it goes into their system, it's going to stop there, not come back. I mean, that's whatever. It doesn't make an echo. That's all I know, Mark. I mean, that's kind of why I asked you because that's probably the way I would have answered the question too. And Ashley says here, Ashley, you want to just share with us what your definition of mixed minus is? Yeah. I believe it's the ratio of how much you hear of yourself and the monitoring mix versus how much signal you're getting from the other person. That's the best way I can put it. Yep.
20 OK, there you go. I appreciate that. And that's also probably coming from her music background as well. All right. And Sid, I think I saw you come off. Mike, did you have something? Just wanted to check to make sure. OK, then let's if I came. Up. I'm sorry if I came up, Mike, it was because my phone was just put in my pocket. So sorry about. That OK, no problem, no problem. It was, it was to make fun of me for going. Oh, I don't know. I can't hear myself back though. I literally texted him and said that's clear as mud dude. I like to know that behind the scenes they're jabbing at each other too. All right, Janae, I saw your hand come up. Did you want to add on to this or make some other suggestions? Yeah.
02 So the mix minus is, you know, primarily using to prevent feedback or audio coming back to. So for example, if I'm dialing in, I don't want to be hearing myself back from the main channel that you have running, right. So that's where the mix minus. So I'll put up a mix minus configuration is again you need to the different scenarios but it's to mainly reduce or remove the echo or the feedback loop essentially. OK, OK, I get it. And then let's jump into because we do have some other stuff to get to and I want to make sure we answer this question. Let's talk a little bit about video. When it comes to this person going from Kevin going from two to three people and currently only using 1 camera. Let's let's say they're only going to use one camera or they have no intention to go out and buy more cameras if they're using just one, but they need to make it a three person show more dynamic.
04 How would they do that? What do you say, Janae? Yeah. So I've seen this question before. And essentially, if you're using 1 camera and you have both of the guest and the host or both of the host in the shot, then the third person would probably come in the middle of the two in facing the camera, so they can all turn a little bit to face the single camera. And then to make it more dynamic, because each person is recording their own audio and it's coming on a different track, you can easily sync it with the video. And anytime one specific person is talking, the video cuts into that person and and so on, so on and so forth.
47 And the application, I think yesterday it was Jonathan or Nicholas that had shared an app yesterday, Eddie dot AI, which lets you do video editing. You can easily tell it, hey, this is a three person video shoot with one camera and three audios and it'll you, it'll help you to, you know, cut in closer to 1 which person is talking. All right, cool. Yeah. And if we don't know what kind of camera Kevin is using and if it's a 4K camera and it's one shot throughout the whole interview, that or the whole show, let's say it's a 60 minute episode one, if they've got the high quality camera there, there's a lot of editing you can do to make it more dynamic in post production.
35 You know, you can zoom in, do close up shots of each person while they're talking if it's in 4K, because that quality isn't going to suffer when you zoom in and isolate just one small area of the video. So that's that's one way to do it. It saves you money by not having to buy new cameras, but you do have to sacrifice some time for that money because you've got to spend time doing that post production work unless you're paying somebody to do it. But again, if you're paying someone to do it, then it's you know, it's taking them more time. You maybe more money out of your pocket. And I also want to say if you do want to add other cameras but don't have the budget for it, think about the camera on the back of your phone as another option.
19 The the quality on the smartphones these days are top notch and they work just as well in my opinion, as some of these really fancy expensive cameras that people are using for video. So you could absolutely use your iPhone, your Android camera, especially if you're using like if it's an iPhone, like when I'm using, I've got the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Those cameras are top notch, excellent cameras. Yeah. Janae, did you want to comment on that? Yeah, fun fact about iPhone cameras, Apple themselves have not used any of the camera outside of the iPhone 15 Pro Max when that was introduced to shoot any of their production stuff.
05 So everything that you see that Apple puts out is shot on an iPhone. So if they're doing it, then you know it. It doesn't. Yeah, why can't you? We are, why can't we? And because there are three people between the three people, they already have three iPhones or three phones that they can record video from and then sync it in post. So absolutely all the options are are at their disposal. Yeah, and the little trick, for those who don't know, I'm sure many of you on stage here do know the little trick to handle the syncing up of all three cameras. If you're doing something like what Janae just described is you all count to 3123, you clap, and then you can see and hear where to sync up all three tracks. It's a little easy trick.
55 That's why when some people may not realize, but they've seen it 100 times, When you see somebody coming out from behind the scenes of say, ATV or movie set and they say, you know, podcasting, morning chat, Take 3 and that Clapper goes, that's exactly why they're doing that. It's to sync everything up appropriately. I saw several people wanting to chime in. I'll go back to Billy. Billy, did you want to add on to this portion about video? Yeah, real quick on the phone and using multiple phones, there isn't a cool app called, I think it's called Switcher app or something like that. Let me see. Yes, Switcher Studio app for iOS and I have a really good friend of mine actually live streams like local sporting events and things like that with just with all phones.
46 It's crazy. So you have 5 phone production studio set up and he uses that app and he's been doing it for years and gets some really crisp content out of it. So it might be a easy way to connect all those phones and and go live to drive. Because editing sucks. Agreed. Danae, did you want to add on to that? Yeah, on that stream yard, sorry, stream. Stream Dad. Stream Yard. The one that Billy just messed up, the one that Billy just mentioned had been on the Switcher. Switcher Studio has been around for a while. And what's cool is Apple introduced the Final Cut Pro app for your iPad, which also connects up to four iPhones together to do a multicam video recording, which will again, sync all of your shots, sync all of the video. It's pretty cool from Apple, of course it works with all of their devices.
39 It's again give you the same kind of experience, just Switcher Studio's giving. Except now you're just paying the $50.00 for the Falca Pro for the iPad per year and everything else is free, whereas Switcher Studio has a much higher subscription fees to use their stuff. Thank you, Janae. Appreciate that. I know Ashley wants to chime in as well. Go for it, Ashley. Yeah, thank you. I just wanted to add a couple of tips for those who might be filming with their iPhone, and that is make sure you turn off the HDRA. Lot of times when you get a new iPhone, you haven't done this already. The HDR is on by default. And if you leave it on, I think you'll find that your colors look a little bit more saturated than what's most people prefer. I just don't think the video quality looks so great with the HDR turned on.
34 So that's just a suggestion and 100% with the with the clapping a few times to line up the audio and video, I would do that no matter what. But another thing you can do is if you have cap cut, even the free version, you can put in like let's say you've got your audio and your video files recorded separately. You can put those in and it will take a reference file from the audio that you don't want. And then you can mute it and you can sync up those two files and it will sync up your audio and video for you. And one more thing, the script, once you get it, your audio and video synced up and it's in your descript project.
14 If you use the script, it will remember your scenes. So once you get like we went back to saying you can do different. Cuts to make it look like there's different angles. If you only have one camera, once you set up those pseudo shots, you can kind of treat the script like a camera Switcher. I just copy and paste the scene so that you don't have to manually set up that shot every single time and that'll really save you some time. Very cool. I'm hearing more and more lately about the scripts, features, newer features and yeah, that they're they continue to impress me. I'm still a Riverside guy and I'm I'm loyal to Riverside and those are some pretty cool tools.
57 I will give you that. All right, let's see here. Janae, anything else you would suggest? What about it? Which is, I know this question will end on this one and I know it could be challenging based on the fact that we don't really know this person's setup well, but lighting has to play a role in this. If they're using 1 camera or three cameras, we still have to think about lighting. So how What's the minimum lighting setup that you'd recommend for a good looking three person video podcast? Janaid. Your best way to do it is to start with a Lantern light, and that's going to make sure everyone is lit up properly. There are inexpensive lights that you can get.
39 I know these days a lot of a lot of experts will tell you don't use ring lights. And I really wouldn't use ring lights in a three person setup just because I you need something more powerful than that. Those ring lights are designed to be more or less right across from you in front of you. It's not really meant for a studio setup. So, yeah, you want to get something more like the key lights. Those are those rectangular lights. What I like about the ones that I use, I get mine from Elgato. What I like about them is you can change the adjust the brightness and adjust the temperature. So you could use more of a white light or you could use more of a soft yellow light if you prefer. I I really think that those are the easiest and best ways to go. Lighting is super important.
29 If you're going to use video, you want to make sure that you're seen clearly and cleanly and the lighting is what it's all about. Even more so than a super expensive fancy camera. I think you like I like we were saying you could get away with and then some using an iPhone or an Android camera from the back, especially if you've got decent lighting. So I encourage that as well to anybody who's looking to upgrade their studio. OK with that. Let's shift gears and share our wins from the week. And I'm just going to remind everybody again, just in case, remember the summer schedule for the podcasting morning chat, no Monday show.
12 So we will be live every Tuesday through Friday, 7:00 AM Eastern, live on Clubhouse for now and live on YouTube as well. All right, so we're going to share our wins from the week. We will go down the line. I'm going to encourage anybody listening live in the audience, come on up, share a win from your week and don't judge your own wins. As I commonly say, yeah, sometimes it's easy to hear the previous person share some win that we consider is really big, really impressive. And then we say, we can often hear somebody come on and then say, oh, how am I going to top that? Well, OK, granted, let's give the that person a round of applause for their impressive win. And yours is just as important, just as big. It's what's going on in your life right now. You're in a different place, different part of your journey. So we can't compare the size of somebody else's win to yours. I hope that makes sense.
14 And with that, let's just ask everybody to share one or two, not a big laundry list today just so we can keep this to time. I'm going to start with Ashley and we will go down the line. So with that, Ashley, please share a win or two from your week. So wins for this week are that this is a big one. I released another episode of my podcast, Sunshine State Showcase and it's video. This is the first time in my 5 years of podcasting I've ever released a full video episode. It's on YouTube and I'm I'm really happy with it. It was a great time. We recorded it live in person at the Florida Americana Music Festival, and I'm just really happy I finally did a video podcast and got back to it.
03 And second win is that my mom is turning 60 and my sister is in town from Dallas, and we're just going to spend the whole weekend celebrating. So that's my other win. Awesome. Congratulations on both. Congratulations going to video and happy birthday to your mom, Dr. Will you share a win or two with us? OK, let's see. So I am involved in two different challenges at the same time. 1 is my threads challenge and the other is a newsletter challenge. There it's taught by the same instructor and it's part of like a flywheel that one kind of feeds into the other.
44 And so I am deeply entrenched in that and I'm I feel like I'm really on the right track. So I feel good about that. And tomorrow, tomorrow I have someone coming over to give the an estimate about redoing my entire bathroom and I am so excited. There's like, there's like a Jacuzzi in my future. I know I like. So yeah, I'm looking. That's. Congratulations. I know that's Adam Shively, that you're that instructor and that's great that he's teaching that stuff. I know he has a lot of success with both threads and newsletters, so very cool.
27 Keep us posted on that. Let's go to Jonathan. Jonathan, good morning again. Please share your wins from this past week. Yesterday I helped my parents move into their new townhouse, so that was a win for them. I'm still terrified that they're moving into a new townhouse that's bigger than their original house, but it's OK. It's OK, they're not 70 something years old. And also I, I got all my stuff set including my cold subscriber e-mail for my intensive coming up in July. So that's all done. Those emails start going out tomorrow, actually. Awesome.
08 Congratulations, Jonathan. Always cool to see your. It seems that you have lots of different things going on with your business, different challenges, different activities for your community. It's very cool to see and inspiring as well. Thank you for sharing. And Sid, good morning to you. Do you want to share some wins with us? Good morning again. Everybody had a great week in Chicago this week, connecting with longtime industry friends, meeting new people. Had about 20 people sign up for our programs this week and a whole bunch of follow-ups to do next. So that's really good. I got to record a live podcast on Sunday where I was being interviewed for a industry, which is also a lot of fun. And yeah, All in all it was a great week. And tomorrow my daughter's at working at camp all summer. And tomorrow morning my wife are getting up to go visit her. It's parents weekend or Parents Day, so when I drive down there and take her to go lunch and then head back. So we'll get to see her for the first time in probably about 8 weeks.
14 So looking forward to that too. Awesome love love anytime I hear somebody is away at camp. Camp is a is very near and dear to my heart. It's where I met my wife many years ago. Yes we went different our different ways and then found each other again. But none the less we met at camp and actually our kids are currently Amy's kids. My step kids are currently at a one week camp and I'm sharing this because I've shared with you guys before. I've had my best friend Jonah join us before. Jonah has a disease called CMT Charcot Marie Tooth. It's a neurological disease that affects your extremities and how well you can use them.
56 He has a he runs a camp for kids with that disease and our kids decided to go volunteer and be counselors there for a week. And we've been getting lots of pictures and videos and it's really cool to see. And actually I'm doing that same thing at another one of his one week camps for the same 'cause we'll be doing that in August. So I'm looking forward to going back to my roots as a camper, camp counselor, and doing the camp thing for a week long should be fun. Thank you for sharing, Sid. Amanda, good morning again. Please share any wins from your week. Good morning. I just think this was just a really good week. Last week was a good week.
37 So just my win is just that the week is good. Lots of like tiny wins, like it just feels good. Awesome. I'll take it. Congratulations Jackie. Welcome to the stage. Good morning. I know you've been sitting here quietly listening. Please share any wins from your week. Hello wins from my week. It was a good week. I'm just going to say that I'm trying now to figure out how I can tie my fitness into my podcast, and that will be another one. It's just. I don't know, it feels good in the position I'm at right now. Finally, feel like things are. Starting to go normal. Sorry. We're out of Oreos, everybody. Yeah, I know we're going to have to go to the store today anyways.
23 Yes, trying to tie that in. Just a quick little thing to share. I've been coaching now for two weeks long time coming. I got my, you know, certification six years ago, finally got certified to the place I wanted to originally. And helping people in this way is one of the most fulfilling things I've ever done in my life, and I feel the need to talk about it so people understand. Like just. How am I? Awesome, it is so. That's my spiel. I miss you guys. I'm so sorry. I've been working so much I cannot get in any other days right now, but I am here. And have a good weekend, everybody. Congratulations, Jackie. I can hear the enthusiasm and energy every time you talk about coaching and your fitness journey and working with Orangetheory and all the things.
12 It's very cool. Congratulations to you and we do miss you and thanks for coming whenever you're able to join. That's all we ask. OK, we're going to go to Billy. Good morning again. Please share a win from your week. Morning. Well, hopefully in about an hour I'm going to have a moving truck in my front lawn. So that's like the biggest win. That's about two or three weeks in the waiting. That's a personal win. And then I'm also relaunching my creating daily podcast because I've been challenged to create a five day challenge around my business model. And so I'm going to use the podcast to help build and through that thing. I I guess that's the strategy I'm dealing with. So anyway, so yeah, man, I've mapped out about two years worth of content because I was like, dude, if I don't, if I don't map it out, it's never going to get done. So I can create content and quickly, but I just got to have all the ideas.
12 So yeah, we'll see how that goes. The little relaunch. Awesome. Congratulations, Billy. Very cool to hear you're going to relaunch that podcast and talk about the things that you have been doing so well. So yeah, keep us posted on that. We'll definitely want to check it out when you officially relaunch. OK, let's go to Janae. Janae, please share some wins with us. Maybe it's that you got your crying child to settle down, but you tell us. Good morning. Yes, he's. He's calm and you know I'm in the car. But the great week again today, the schools ending for all the kids. And then next week we're planning to see my parents for a couple weeks. So that'll be a great when you know, get away from everything and good to see family and another tool when there's there's a local gentleman, Justin Kavanaugh known as Coach Kav.
09 And so Ham and I were building out a local podcast studio. So that's another win. And I got to see the place yesterday. So we're going to be setting that space up so we can invite people that are local to us and also invite other entrepreneurs in this space to say, hey, come start a podcast, come be a guest on the show and start them out. Easy less. So those are my little wins for me. Thank you. Yeah, congratulations on all of those wins, Janae. Appreciate it. And Victoria coming to you, welcome to the stage. Do you want to share some wins? Thanks for the invite. When this week was I was invited to keynote at a conference this week, which you know, my podcast is the chemical shows very much a business podcast.
57 And that keynote opportunity came largely as the result of the podcast and the exposure that I've gotten with it and that insights I've developed through other through speaking to different guests and stuff. So I would say, you know, for all the podcasters, your platform is bigger than your podcast and your podcast helps develop your platform. So that's a, that was a cool win. And then my win #2 is I've made a decision that I am setting up a podcast studio not in my Home Office. So I am at the beginning of the journey and in Faction, I'd love to learn about what you're doing because I have a gazillion in one questions and I have a vision for where that's going, much like you to not just for my own podcast and a podcast in my network, but for other local businesses.
46 And I think there's a great opportunity here. And I have no idea what I'm doing, so I'm going to need some help with that. But that was my other win of the week. Well that is very cool. Thank you Victoria for sharing. And yeah, I have. I've had this bug lately of wanting to investigate opening up a studio in the Asheville area, and so it's cool to hear you saying that you've got that itch to do the same. I'll be curious to hear a little more about your journey. And yes, I think Janae's a great person to listen to, connect with and yeah, see where that goes. So congratulations, Victoria. As for me, my wins for this week, I will say it's definitely getting through the week that's been really challenging for me personally, professionally, etcetera. Just kind of, I think the win out of it all really is that I am practicing giving myself grace. I think I've been really stuck for a long time in this go go go mentality and not giving myself any time to myself or for myself.
57 And I think it's catching up with me and hence the decision to do Mondays off for the rest of the summer. And hence why I had to take two days off this week, even though I was resisting that at first. But this is the whole practice of learning how to give myself grace. So I am honoring that and celebrating that as my win for this week. And with that, we are back Tuesday at 7:00 AM Eastern Time. Please join us live on Clubhouse, live on YouTube. And if you can't, that's OK, you can catch us on your favorite podcast platform just a couple hours after we go live. So again, back Tuesday, 7:00 AM Eastern Time. And until then, make it a great weekend. Everybody take care.
