Consistency isn't Everything

Consistency isn't Everything

Last week, I shared that I'll be taking a break from the Podcasting Morning Show through the end of August.

If you've been part of this community for a while, you know that wasn't an easy decision.

I've always been proud of how consistently we've shown up. Day after day. Week after week. That consistency has helped build an incredible community, and it's something I'll always value.

But over the past several months, I've been trying to keep up with iRonick Media, Empowered Podcasting, the Podcasting Morning Show, and everything happening in my personal life. Somewhere along the way, I stopped paying attention to what I needed.

I know I'm not the only creator who's done that.

As podcasters, we're constantly telling ourselves to keep going. Don't miss an episode. Stay consistent. Keep the momentum alive.

There's truth to all of that. But there's also a point where pushing harder stops being productive.

I've realized that taking a step back now is a lot healthier than waiting until I'm completely burned out.

The Podcasting Morning Show isn't going away. This community isn't going away. I'm simply giving myself the space to recharge so I can come back with the same energy and enthusiasm that made me love doing this in the first place.

I wanted to share this because I have a feeling some of you needed to hear it too.

Giving yourself permission to pause doesn't mean you've failed.

Sometimes it means you're making sure you'll still be able to do the work you love six months or even six years from now.

Have you ever given yourself permission to step back before burnout made the decision for you?
